Biografija
Edin Dervišhalidović founded the band Merlin in 1983 and has been its singer and songwriter since. With the "Merlin" band, he has recorded five studio albums.
Dervišhalidović began his solo career under the name "Dino Merlin" in 1991, and recorded four studio albums.
As Dino Merlin he wrote the first anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina, "Jedna si, jedina". He has also taken part in Eurovision Song Contests -- in Dublin in 1993 (he is the writer of "Sva Bol Svijeta") and in Jerusalem in 1999 (singing "Putnici" with Beatrice, a French singer). He has also taken part in other big European festivals, such as Copenhagen in 1996 and Turkovision in 1997. His tour promoting his Sredinom album, which was released in 2000, included over 200 concerts, with a spectacular performance at the Koševo Olympic Stadium in Sarajevo, in front of an audience of about 80,000. The Sredinom album was the top-selling album in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and sold in all of the countries that were once part of Yugoslavia.
On April 27, 2008 Dino Merlin signed a distribution contract with Croatia Records for promotion of his new album titled Ispočetka (translation: From the Beginning) According to the most recent information posted on the official site, the distribution contract for Bosnia has been signed.
Dino's official site also announced a concert date to coincide with the promotion of his new album "Ispočetka." The concert will take place at the Koševo stadium on July 19, 2008.
